Living with care

The Victorian Government has identified Fitzrovia’s dedication to sustainability, as ‘Best Practice’ using its Built Environment Sustainability Scorecard (BESS) system.

Created to assist builders and developers to demonstrate that they meet sustainability information requirements, the BESS tool assesses energy and water efficiency, thermal comfort, and overall environmental sustainability performance. Fitzrovia surpassed the minimum planning requirements in all of these areas, highlighting its commitment to first rate development.

Good design can often reduce the amount of energy needed to keep a home comfortable.

The Australian Government is encouraging developers to become more mindful of this through its Nationwide House Energy Rating Scheme (NatHERS), which rates the energy efficiency of a home out of ten.

Fitzrovia is well and truly ahead of the game in this area. By surpassing development norms, some of its residences have achieved a 7 Star NatHERS rating, translating to reduced carbon footprints for our residents and significant cost savings on their energy bills through smarter design choices.

As part of our commitment to working hand in hand with our environment, Fitzrovia has incorporated a variety of carefully considered Environmentally Sustainable Design practices to provide each residence with superior liveability and enhanced thermal and acoustic properties.

With a focus on durability and functionality, residence interiors include natural stone and timber finishes. Superior European appliances and well considered layouts that ensure your new home offers spaces that are warm and inviting. The exterior design combines the sustainable benefits of recycled brickwork, with the low maintenance durability and high thermal performance of architectural cladding and Colorbond roofing.

Rainwater is a valuable natural resource. Fitzrovia’s 100% Storm Rating is owing to a rainwater harvesting system that not only reduces your water bill, but decreases storm water runoff, flooding and erosion in the broader community.

Fitzrovia uses vertical gardens throughout the development to soften and cool dark and impervious surfaces, while also providing a natural source of shade, effective noise reduction, privacy, tranquillity and insulation.
